Children love to have fun and engage in new things, which is why the Skibbereen Children’s Festival is such a well loved event in the calendar. This year the festival will be running from the 22nd to 28th July and it promises to be lots of fun with plenty to do. Children of all ages are welcome at the festival and they can take part in lots of different activities which have been created with fun and learning in mind.
The events that you can expect to see during the festival are: baking demonstrations and classes where children can cook up a storm, a fun sandcastle competition which has different age groups and a team event, drama workshops, flower arranging classes, photography classes, arts and crafts, cycle skills workshops, a teddy bears picnic and so much more.
Some of the events are free of charge, whereas others require a payment to secure a place. So if your child wants to go to a particular workshop you will have to make sure you get them a ticket. All of these are affordable and by booking a place you will make sure your child is not disappointed. Take a look at the running list for the festival and you will be able to plan the perfect day or days out for your family.
While the children are enjoying their workshops etc you can explore the local area and take in the sights and sounds of this charming part of Ireland for yourself.
