Food Festivals in Ireland 2013

All the foodies out there looking for interesting food festivals this year won’t want to miss the remarkable World Irish Stew Championship. This is a celebration of the famous food that has been served in Ireland for generations, a staple meal for many and still a favourite today. During the championship, which is held in numerous locations around the country and is part of The Gathering 2013, visitors will be able to sample many delicious stews from all across the country. Groups of professional cooks and enthusiastic amateurs can enter their own creations. The final is held at St Angela’s College in County Sligo and it is a feast for all the senses.

Another wonderful meeting of culinary minds takes place at the Festival of Fish, which is held in County Down in August. Visitors can enjoy delightfully fresh seafood, menus with a festive twist, competitions and much more. The festival takes place in Annalong, Ardglass, Kilkeel and Portavogie, all of which are character-filled little fishing villages making this festival a must-see for seafood fans.
